The Great Kazoo was designed to create interesting, randomly generated
music / soundscapes from directories containing sound files (.aif, .wav,
.mp3) on your computer.
You can fiddle with the randomly generated music in realtime. Excellent
when using acid loops. Also generates randomly generated Kazoo music,
(but how long can you handle it??) Use our recording tool above to
record your creations.
Try setting up a directory of sound loops, some drums and a couple
of piano or guitar loops plus whatever else and see what kind of randomly
generated music you can create. Some sample loops included.

With the right number, and combination of sounds you
can create some interesting randomly generated music that plays on
and on.
You can loop and lock certain channels or mute them. Locking a channel
allows you to keep a certain sound within a channel even if you pick
another directory to randomly play files from.
Many people use this program as an ambiance generator, I think bird
lovers quite like this program. With some light rain, a few bird noises,
some wind and sound effects, you can create an ever-changing soundscape
that will surprise you. Dr. Rom, a radio host in L.A did a portion
of his show on this program... he liked to create directories of different
bird noises from around the world, then he might select his directory
“Bird Sounds from the Congo”... The Great Kazoo starts
creating a randomly generated sound environment creating the illusion
that you are there!
